1.arbitrary or unrestrained exercise of power;despotic abuse of authority. Synonyms:despotism, absolutism, dictatorship.

4.oppressive or unjustly severe government onthe part of any ruler.

5.undue severity or harshness.

Obama’s remarks this week at a graduation ceremony: 

“They'll warn that tyranny is always lurking just around the corner. You should reject these voices. Because what they suggest is that our brave and creative and unique experiment in self rule is somehow just a sham with which we can't be trusted."

This is such a twist on the truth that encapsulates the left and their ideology. It is specifically the watchful eye keeping tyranny at bay which allows our brave and creative and unique experiment in self rule to succeed! The oppressive strong arm of any government entity such as the IRS which we have now absolute proof of unjustly targeting peaceful peoples is tyranny in it’s true form. 

Tyranny is an old word for a concept that crosses all generations, all borders, and all forms of government types. It is not some old fashioned concept or a conspiracy theory. The trouble with being too entrenched inside Washington DC is that your vision is warped as to the examples of tyranny happening inside our own government. Obama can’t see the tyranny because he sees an expansive and obtrusive government as necessary to fulfill his wish list. 

Yes, tyranny is lurking just around the corner. It is absolutely happening in government agencies of the United States. It exists in the IRS, some police departments, and the department of homeland security, just to name a few. All it takes is for citizens to become complacent or to think that it can’t happen here. It can, it has, and it will continue to erode our brave and creative and unique experiment of self rule. 

It isn’t the people who can’t be trusted, it is the government agencies to whom we give up our freedoms. This is why the latest scandals are more than merely scandals. A politician who is caught in a tryst with a young woman is a scandal. The IRS targeting private citizens is a tyrannical government which must be placed back in check by the people in charge…..the people of the United States of America.
